E-file an IRS business tax extension with TaxExtension.com
Mississippi corporate income and franchise tax returns are due by the 15th day of the 3rd month after the end of the tax year. For calendar year taxpayers, this date is March 15. If you cannot file on time, you can get a Mississippi tax extension.
A Mississippi business extension will give you 6 more months to file, moving the deadline to September 15 (for calendar year filers). However, an extension of time to file is not an extension of time to pay. Your Mississippi tax must still be paid by the original due date (March 15) or penalties and interest will apply.
If you owe zero Mississippi tax and you have a valid Federal extension (IRS Form 7004), you will automatically be granted a Mississippi tax extension. On the other hand, if you owe Mississippi tax, you can make a state extension payment using Mississippi Form 83-180 (Application for Automatic Six Month Extension for Corporate Income & Franchise Tax Return). Tax extension payments can also be made online via Mississippi’s Taxpayer Access Point (TAP): tap.dor.ms.gov
