The State of Alaska imposes tax on corporate income, and payment of tax is due no later than 30 days after the due date of the corresponding federal return (i.e. Federal S Corp returns are due by 3/15, Alaska S Corp returns are due by 4/15). Note that there is no extension for the payment deadline.
Alaska will automatically grant you a 6 month extension, provided you have filed a federal extension.
Form 6240 (Payment Voucher, Corporation Net Income Tax) is the general payment voucher for Alaska businesses. This form can be used to make an estimated tax payment, a payment with an extension of time to file the corporate return, or payment of an assessment by the Alaska Department of Revenue.
Certain payments must be made electronically, including a payment with an extension that is $150,000 or more, or any other payment that is $100,000 or more.
