State of Alaska Business Income Tax Extensions

E-file an IRS business tax extension with TaxExtension.com

General Instructions

The State of Alaska imposes tax on corporate income, and payment of tax is due by the 15th day of the 3rd month following the end of the tax year. Note that there is no extension for the payment deadline.

Corporate tax returns are due within 30 days of the deadline for Federal business returns (the Federal due date is usually March 15). If you get a Federal tax extension, Alaska will automatically grant you a State tax extension as well.

Special Note for 2013 Calendar-Year Returns Only: The Alaska Department of Revenue has extended the filing deadline for 2013 corporate income tax returns to May 14, 2014. This is to allow corporations to take advantage of new online tax filing capabilities. This extension does not affect the payment deadline.

Form 6240 (Payment Voucher, Corporation Net Income Tax) is the general payment voucher for Alaska businesses. This form can be used to make an estimated tax payment, a payment with an extension of time to file the corporate return, or payment of an assessment by the Alaska Department of Revenue.

Certain payments must be made electronically, including a payment with an extension that is $150,000 or more, or any other payment that is $100,000 or more.
