Assuming my extension is approved by the IRS, when is tax return due?

Generally, personal income tax returns are extended for 6 months after the original filing deadline; this year that extension is to October 15, 2014. There are exceptions that may apply if you are living out of the country. Please see our FAQ pertaining to “out of the country” extensions (below).
